With Putbus, Rügen, Germany’s largest island, has Germany’s youngest planned residential city. In 1815, Prince Wilhelm Malte zu Putbus had the town around his palace planned on the drawing board and began extensive building work. Built entirely in the style of classicism, the beautiful buildings still shine in brilliant white today.
Putbus also offers a variety of opportunities for swimming. Small sandy beaches, lawns and natural beaches invite you to do so. From Neuendorf you reach Wreechen via the cliff landscape. A little further away you have bathing facilities in Groß Stresow in the direction of Binz and also on the nudist beach in Neukamp in the direction of Altkamp. Be inspired by our picture series.
